DaVonda Simmons

Ms. Simmons is a multifaceted entertainer. She has captivated audiences with her unique style of Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, Classical, and Broadway genres for more than 25 years. She honed her skills and received her Bachelor of Music from Florida International University, Miami, Florida. DaVonda Simmons has headlined in some of Florida's hottest entertainment venues. In the Miami area, she has performed at the Fontainebleau Hilton Hotel, the famous Forge Restaurant, and O'Hara's Jazz Club, to name a few. Most recently her appearances have included The Grand Bohemian Hotel, The Peabody Orlando, The Blue Zoo, City Jazz at Universal Studios, the Blue Martini in Tampa, Florida, Hyatt Hotel Orlando and Sapphire Falls Hotel Orlando, Florida.

Ms. Simmons' experience as an all-around entertainer has contributed to her success and extensive work for the Walt Disney World Company. She has appeared as a principal performer and special guest artist for Walt Disney Entertainment for more than 20 years. She has had the pleasure of being the opening act for such greats as Joe Williams, Diane Schuur, Marvin Hamlisch, Lionel Hampton, Arturo Sandoval, Chuck Mangione, Rosemary Clooney, Della Reese, Nell Carter, Rita Moreno, Carol Channing, and many others. She also appeared with John Davidson in Disney's Christmas Day Parade. Ms. Simmons performs as a recurring special guest artist on the ABC Network for Philadelphia's Fourth of July and the ABC 6/Dunkin Donuts Thanksgiving Day parades, as well as, The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington D.C. During the 2004 Daytona 500 Pre-Race Show, she had the privilege of performing the opening production for the President of the United States.

Ms. Simmons' abilities to tailor her shows has led to numerous convention performances for major clients such as IBM, Pfizer, Lockheed Martin, BankAtlantic, and others. In addition, she currently produces, directs, and is a principal performer in one of Central Florida's hottest gospel ensembles. She has recorded voice-over performances for Visa USA, Reading Is Fundamental Foundation, Charisma Productions, Walt Disney World Company, and The Children's Television Network. She is also the May 1998 winner of the nationally televised œShowTime at the Apollo.  Presently, Ms. Simmons is appearing as a principal in œThe Dooley and Pals Show,  a syndicated children's television show airing on PBS and TBN.

She has made frequent worldwide appearances as a headline entertainer aboard the many ships operated by Cunard Crown Cruise Line. In her one-woman show, Ms. Simmons takes audiences on a musical journey that includes the nostalgia of the Swing Era, the pop sounds of Motown R&B, and favorite Broadway showstoppers.

As a studio vocalist, Ms. Simmons' rich dynamic voice has been heard on pop albums, gospel CDs, and commercial jingles for more than 20 years. She has sung back-up vocals on recordings for artist such as Vanessa L. Williams, Jermaine Jackson, Expose', Gloria Estefan, and Irene Cara. Most recently, her vocal talents can be heard in œZarkana , a Cirque du Soleil production. She has recorded various commercial and promotional jingles for Chevrolet, Lynx, Magic 107FM, Disney - MGM Studios, Disney Institute, and Amscot, to name a few.

Ms. Simmons' received rave reviews for her musical theatre performances as Effie White in Dreamgirls at the Burt Reynolds Jupiter Theatre in Jupiter Florida, and principal roles in shows such as Sweet Charity, The Wiz, The Festival Of The Lion King and Menopause the Musical.
